Waikele T.A.A.G Team (Taking Action Against Graffiti)

The Waikele T.A.A.G. (Taking Action Against Graffiti) Team was formed in April 2004 by WCA General Manager Malcolm Ching. This volunteer group started with five concerned homeowners and a few buckets of paint. Their sole mission was to help clean up the community from unsightly graffiti damage.

Within three short years, this group gained recognition as the first fast-response anti-graffiti team in Hawaii. T.A.A.G began making headlines on KITV, KHON, Honolulu Advertiser, Star Bulletin, the Rick Hamada morning radio show, and FM Talk Radio with Senator Fred Hemmings. This team was also presented a Certificate of Appreciation by the Honolulu City Council for their effective efforts against graffiti in the Waipahu community.

Today, T.A.A.G has over 30 dedicated members that actively clean up graffiti damage on a daily basis. Due to their committed efforts, the Waikele Community Association stands as one of the only graffiti-free planned communities in the state.
